My Aussie Pups & Abbey

Meet our wonderful pups.  They are all in training to be Therapy Dogs.  Therapy dog are dogs trained to do many things including visiting nursing home and hospitals, reading to children in libraries, work in court rooms with victims of crimes, work in therapy clinics with the clients, work with troubled teens and much more.  More and more Therapy dogs are being recognized for the important work they do.

Australian Shepherds are actually an American breed.  They were given their  name because of their association with the Basque sheepherders who came to the United States from Australia in the 1800's.

They are extremely versatile, very intelligent and have strong herding instincts.  They need a job to do.  Couple that with their lovable temperament and my pups are good at what they do.

Great Danes were born to hunt boar.  Today they are known as the gentlest & kindest of dogs.  Often referred to as the “Gentle Giant”. They are loyal, dependable and devoted.  Abbey is all that and more.  When she gets a little bit older she will make a wonderful therapy dog.
